Re: Bangkok Field Report
Sawadee krub!
Today is first day of the Bangkok Shutdown. 7 major intersections in the city has been closed since 7am this morning. Please avoid Central World, MBK and Asoke junctions because crowds are huge there especially MBK where it's the main protest stage. At this point of time nobody can be sure how long the protesters are keeping the roads blocked or will there be violence. To answer some bros Qs here if the body massage joints of Rachada are closed today. To the best of my knowledge they are not closed. If you want to chiong the massages here my advice is not to take a taxi but the MRT. But leave early though because it is more crowded than usual as most decent Thais WITH A JOB has left their cars at home to take the MRT or BTS to work today. You can alight at the Rama 9 station (for Amsterdam) or Hway Kwang (for Nataree, Emmanualle, Ceasar's) or Sutthisan (for Poseidon). I'm not too sure about Soi Cowboy because Asoke and Sukhumvit junction is still packed with thousands of protesters as at 6pm (Thai time). If Soi Cowboy is till open you may want to try entering it via Sukhumvit Soi 23 or better still go visit Nana or even Patpong tonight. For those who die-die must go Pimp. They are having a "Mini Members" promotion from today until the 15th. BHT3,333 for 3 bottles of Johnny Walker Red Labels or BHT5,555 for 3 bottles of Johnny Walker Black labels. I think very worth it. For faster updates on whats happening in Bangkok and club promotions; you can follow me on my Twitter account @chiongpartyboy Good luck and stay safe everyone! :D |

Live report from BKK on 13 Jan.
I went to central world, only some entrance to central world still open. Road closed. Stage setup. Saw Ex Thai PM Abhisit walking along the walkway to chidlom BTS around 11am. Siam paragon/BTS roads around all closed. But siam paragon shops still open. MBK is one of the main stage. Road closed as well. Giving free lunch, drinks during lunch time. Walkway bridge around MBK is closed to public. only can access from national stadium bts to tokoyu level 3 entrance. MBK is open but all the gold smith shops closed. But other shops still open. Very quiet in sukumkhit road. Not many cars and people. Nana plaza open as usual but very few customers. |
Re: Bangkok Field Report
Currently in BKK..
Protest started today, many massage girls are not working (according to the girl I was with in Nataree on Sunday yesterday. Went to Amsterdam around 9.00 pm, only saw 6 girls. Not sure is it because most girls not working because of the protest; or most are already working. I think its both.. Nana plaza fully operating, but not as busy as I imagined it to be.. plenty of girls though! From Nana then I walked along Sukhumvit road to Soy Cowboy, saw a lot of the protesters sleeping on their tent, with the speaker still active. Soy cowboy also still operating, but a few bars are closed. |
Re: Bangkok Field Report
