Bro missile,

On behalf of our Bro Castrol, we welcome you to chat in this thread. I juz hope that all the internet reports are true as no one from Spurs actually comes out to clarify.

an unlikely deal i think though.

I think Harry will want to keep Modric after Keane & Defoe example. To me Berbatov is a good player, he doesn't play much football this season and yet he is the golden boot winner.

Just hope all the best for him.

Instead of Adebayor, I think Cristian Ceballos is better:

Young and maybe more eager to perform.

my word look at that... i believe even gattuso cant take the ball from him. ceballos could be the best player in the world in 2 years. we'll see maradona and zidane watching him in white hart lane soon. :D

adebayor played very well for madrid as i watched him in recent games. his volleys and his touches are all making him a remarkable fox in the box. also his heading capability is definitely a notch above the current spurs strikers, even crouchy.

Arsenal, Spurs want Falcao
North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both willing to pay £26 million to sign Porto striker Radamel Falcao, according to the player's agent.

he has declared that he wants to stay at united. looks like sir alex may just have to make a straight cash offer for modric if he still wants to go for him.

that's style he plays which makes him look lazy and uninterested and it is precisely that's why watching him can be so frustrating at times.

imho, spurs should let pavlyuchenko go. falcao looks a good prospect with defoe, rafael van der vaart and crouchy. :)

barcelona 3 man utd 1

you can never win a game when your midfield is totally outclassed.
1 sided match, the catalans are the king of europe.

Bro,

How to win against this Barca team? They just up a gear whenever they like. I think we are lucky not to be slaughtered by them becoz we didn't even manage to get pass Real.

Moreover, Man U didn't play too badly for this game. However, it is the catalans that showed the world what they are made of.

This team will be around for sometime unless someone with big big $$$ can tear their midfielders from Barca.

How nice if we can play like that and dominate like them.

Below is a report about Harry saying Spurs will not let stars leave:
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...-leave?cc=4716

If Modric leaves, Harry will likely to leave (for Chelski, maybe)as well. As this is a sign that the club is back to it's old ways of selling star players if the price is high enough. In this process, we will only be able to enjoy UCL football every now and then.

In my own opinion, the club should retain those committed players and build strongly through the academy while not letting go of committed star players. The club should have realised that playing in the UCL has lifted the club's recognition worldwide and that could mean better profit than just selling committed star players.

Hopefully, the star players remain committed and focus on the job at hand instead of being rattled by interested clubs.

Palacios looking for a move to Napoli:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/925330/wilson-palacios-waiting-to-hear-over-napoli-move?cc=5739"

Napoli & Spurs dispute Palacios' fees:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...os-fee?cc=4716

If Spurs bought Parker, Palacios likely to going down the packing order becoz of Sandro's magnificent performance this season. Juz hope that Parker's arrival (if it happen) will not hurt Sandro's performance as well.

alamak just 2m pounds diff and it becomes a show stopper. spurs should realize it is not like selling berbatov or carrick, both of them played a hell of a season before they were sold. palacios hardly even played the 2010/11 season...

40 year old friedel, our very own dino zoff! :D
but i hope cudicini will be spurs no.1

Tottenham have signed 40-year-old goalkeeper Brad Friedel from Aston Villa on a two-year contract. The move is likely to prompt further speculation over Heurelho Gomes' future at the club.

Cudicini is really good during Gomes' absence.

No doubt about Brad Friedel's ability. He is more likely to be a stabilising factor. I would prefer they look for someone young and with potential rather than bringing in players whom may be easily injured and might not stay long due to their age (no hard feelings to these players & I am not an age discrimination guy as I believe that everyone will age).

Gomes looks certain to be gone very soon if he doesn't buck up.

Spurs had a bid for Brazilian striker rejected:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...damiao?cc=4716

After Sandro's success, the South American scouts are getting their voices heard.

Bro Castrol,

Maybe you should add a few millions more for Spurs to get this player.:D

If Harry can mould Ceballos with:
1) His own skills;
2) Huddlestone's long pass skill;
3) Modric's vision and possession skills;
4) VDV's cool finish; and
5) Bale's speed and crosses.

I think he will be a great player in the making.

Bro,

De Santos has yet to fit into English way of playing football. Pavy has it tough too at first, but once he starts to play for the team, he is a great player to watch. Look at Sandro, he learns the ropes fast.

I do think that it is difficult to blend into Spurs way of playing, which very much dependent on tall upfront player. If the trend isn't clear enough for Harry, watch how Barca is playing. I think if he keeps Modric and VDV, he will be playing an alternative way, if he lets Modric goes and bring in Joe Cole then it may be another story:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...spurs?&cc=4716

Whatever the decision, the only way is to move forward and not slipped back to mid-table.

Definitely do not wish to see this guy go:
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...future?cc=4716

We are starting to find our foot again the last two seasons with Modric's contribution. We need him to be on our side to try & fight for 4th place again.

In my own opinion, Harry may leave if he can't keep Modric for at least another season becoz it will only show the club's ambition to push for greater heights.

Hopefully, Harry can keep him.
