Maybe you are talking about Implanon? Its a small flexible rod inserted under the skin, lasts for 3 years, cost $300-600. No worry about having to remember pills etc. The dose of hormones is also a bit lower. My gf had been using it for more than an year. Can raw, and she stopped having monthly after few weeks of irregular bleeding.
Some girls tend to have moodiness, irregular bleeding etc after going on it, though it has all become positive for my gf, so far.

IUCD with hormones. No regrets.

Little to no monthly mentstrual blood and requires replacement every 5 years. No more remembering to pop pills or bring during traveling.

My wife started going on the pill after the 1st time we had sex. It was a no brainer since she wanted birth control and knew my preference to do her raw and always cip. 4 years on, cip everyday, not a single accident. :D

There are some recent health concerns arising with the use of Yasmin after some years, and recently there was a law suit against the manufacturer, and I think there is one ongoing in Australia.

My partner has been using it for around 3 years and is considering to stop using Yasmin due to some occasional symptoms that seem to sometimes appear. It is not easy to confirm the symptoms unless consulted with and tested by doctors.

Some women I know have read about the side effects and risks, and say that is why they don't want to use oral or hormonal contraceptives that can cause chemical disturbance to their bodies. Of course it could also be that they just don't want to be inseminated by men whom they aren't attracted to or serious about (even though some have had raw sex in the past), or it could be also be some other reasons that they don't want to be truthful about.

My ex wife went gynae to insert a thingy inside her vagina. After insertion for first 2 weeks, no sex though. After that free to shoot inside anytime, anywhere, without worrying about pregnancy. And I think can put for 3 years or 5 years. Don't know what it call though. Lazy to google :D
