Guess its the best rate i can get liao.... but bags all hand carry wor.... nowadays even check in bags oso must pay.....

A little unfair to the budget airlines la. It is called 'BUDGET' airline. If you buy a $2 nasi lemak , you dont expect chicken drumstick on the plate ; right?

I always buy my tickets well in advance , like 3/6/9 months plus and it cost most probably about SGD100-150 all-in for a return flight to bangkok. 99% of the time when someone buys a flight , he will make time for the trip so it is good as he wont keep delaying his trip.

What the budget airlines have done for us as travellers is that they have pushed the normal airline's prices to a more acceptable range as well as giving us more choices. I remember (10years?) before all this oil tax and security tax , a Swiss/Fin air flight that touches down after midnight in Bangkok cost about SGD250.

Those days the cheapest was Angel Air that cost less $200 to Bkk with one direct and one via phuket but too bad it only last less than year.

Since Airasia started flying to Bangkok from day one ; which BTW I booked for only SGD60 all-in return , I was only delayed one time on tiger for 4hrs. Other time flight changes are less than 1hr delays. :)

Like I said , its not simpily just dollars and cents on your single flight. The budget airline has reshaped the industry as well as many people's travel patterns. No longer does the normal airlines do anything they want and expect us to accept it.

My favorite is how the budget airlines forced SIA/MAL to show hands on their KL-Sin flights and how much they make from tea and cakes in the skies for a 45min flight!

Re: Dedicated to BKK's a-go-go recommendations

Keep hearing horror stories from other budget airline users maybe I'm lucky but never had a cancelled or delayed flight on the SIN-BKK-SIN route ever since I started taking budget for what close to 5-6 years already? And I fly this route at least once a month. Only time delayed was one time for 2 hours on the KL-SIN route.

Budget really have to book early to enjoy the savings if not their prices comparable to Swiss, SAS and Finnair. If remember correctly fares like $180-$200 then. Heck I once even took Nepali airlines! Regular Airbus plane but older. When it took off the cabin fixtures were rattling a bit too much for my liking!

I think now Tiger having a sale in June... chiong ah!!!
