Songkran revelries to go on for five days

The Cabinet agreed yesterday to extend this year's Songkran festival, which was originally set down as a four-day break from Friday April 13 until Monday April 16, for an extra day.

The Labour Ministry threatened to punish employers who refused to allow workers a five-day Songkran break after a resolution by the Cabinet to extend the holiday.

The permanent secretary for the PM's Office sought a fifth day off on Tuesday April 17 to give workers a better chance to visit families in their hometowns.

Labour Protection and Welfare Department chief Padungsak Thephasdin na Ayutthaya said he had issued an announcement asking for cooperation from some 350,000 businesses to let their workers celebrate Songkran from April 13until 17, according to the Cabinet resolution yesterday.

He said if there were complaints to the department about business operators refusing to allow workers the extra day, the department would take action against the employer under the Labour Protection Act.

The Thai New Year falls on April 13 to 15 every year, and according to a Cabinet resolution in May 2001, if the holiday falls on the weekend, the next weekday can be made a holiday in lieu.

2v1 in hatyai abit hard but not said cannot get. hatyai girls are not like bkk girls :D

anyway i never try before 2v1 in h. city cos most is tirak lol

i prefer 2 v 1 in bkk. my fav place for 2 v 1 is in apnam :p use to go rao2 to find sandwich. hehehe

Hi,
just came back from Hatyai,so here is my brief FR.

Arrived at hatyai airport @ 2130 Thai time via tiger airways,air fares $138 inclusive of taxes INCLUDE Thai airport tax ( previously you got to pay at the airport before departure <<--- The price is quote via internet booking.the airport checkpoint is darm slow,took almost half an hour for my turn to get chop.left the airport around 2205 and got into a pravite taxi to New world Hotel,taxi fare 250THB but I give him 300.Hotel is 450THB per night.

So after checking into hotel and took a shower, my friend bring me to a place where we can eat and see singer sing song,10 mins walk from my hotel and the place is call (Xiao Gui Ling) if I'm not wrong.ALOT of young and pretty prc singer there and I am entertained by their archan a.k.a teacher who is also a singer there.I first time go such place so he ask the prc singer to sit with me and chat,wa lao one shot come 7 =_=.Ordered steam fish and steamed chicken plus 2 bottle of heleken damage 1500THB.Was told if I want to book the singer out overnight it will cost 3-4kTHB,my friend ask me forget it.So around 12am we left the place and give 200THB to each singer who seat on my table.I never knew such place is so expensive and we just arrived only my close 3kTHB goner without having a girl with me(Darm Noob me) and I only bring $450 SGD to spent.Anyway bros better be a good drinker if wanna go there, the girls will make u keep drinking.

2nd Day went for massage session just downstairs of my hotel (shop name acient massage) opt for full body thai massage.No hanky panky there but there is only 1 ok looking girl there only,the massage was hard and good and damage for 2 hours thai full body massage is 300+40 THB tips.After that went to another eatting place with stage and singer just right beside new world hotel (JIA BING LOU) Damaged almost the same but this place the food is ALOT better but mostly auntie singer there,only got one lao chio singer.Haiiii I can't get a girl there coz no one I like and this time my money is almost sucked dry ( I go there is because friend bring,I new to hatyai) A singer auntie there then offer to drive me to sakura find charboh.So we reach sakura hotel,wow lao alot of pretty young syt singer there,then a singer caught my eye and I ask her over to sit with me.A thai girl who can speak chinese,after awhile is her turn to sing, then I was told if I wanna hang flower to her? I said ok and take out 200 THB,then the people there use that kind of eyes look at me like very stingy,sian I never been to such place I donno the range.After the girl sing finish she come back sit with me again and thanks me for the tips and so we TCSS for another half hour and my friend told me wanna book these girls cost 4k.Hai then leave the place without girl again zzzzzzzzzz.

3rd day and the LAST day I going to stay there, i told myself I MUST GET A GIRL TODAY...Got a moto taxi to drive me to Channivate and finally managed to get a young girl for 1.7THB ( Can't emember the KTV name but is at Channivate Soi 3) The girl service is just a normal ok which you would expect if you visit geylang CAT 40 fish tank but the difference is you pay lesser and the girl accompany you from the time you book her till next morning 8am.

Return day check out hotel at 12pm and my flight time is at 2155.So went to book a car and drove me to temple to give offering and shun bian kill time till my flight check in time which is 2000.

This is the 2nd time I went hatyai,first time go there for temple trip only so I don't really know how to cheong there,sorry for the bad and boring FR.

this is like a case of blind man leading another blind man in hatyai. spent abt 6k jus for some prc singers to sit with u. not worth it bro

By the abbreviation "KNN" did you mean Kan-Ni-Na in Hokkien?? If you don't behave, zapping is what you get. Anyway, don't worry I wont zap, I lost that drive oledi. It does not matter. This Hatyai thread is a mine field.

BTW, KANINA is "thank you" in the Japanese Kansai-ben [Osaka dialect] :D

Bro I hope you are right, otherwise I have to sleep in the streets. If really hotels are fully booked, can I sleep at hotel lobby sofa at Lee Gardens or Grand Plaza? Bro Katoeylover69 has extracted from KNN news that the holidays are going to extend to 17/4/07, now I am feeling worried that there is going to be no accomodation.

Bro Saintsrsaf, you mean that the air ticket you book from Tiger Airways include the THB 700 departure tax? I thought that customers have to pay the additional tax before leaving, didn't know that the tax is now build into the air ticket.

Yup the thai airport tax is included when I book the ticket via tigerairways.com
