Can try google Asia Travel website... been booking hotels with them for donkey years or just give Watana Mansions a call +(662)2750110 usually when the lady answers and tells you have rooms on the dates you plan to go its quite accurate (for me at least).

Old but cheap + clean and near to all the fun places :)

Its quite, girl friendly though coffee shop service slow but food reasonably priced and tasty. BTW never seen any "ho hia tee" when staying there! Don't worry... like that old Guinness advert... "midnight dun scared knock on door" nah! Chok dee chok dee! :D

Hi,

Staying a night in Watanna is not longer economical. It costs 800 Baht per night with a simple breakfast & a 30 mins free internet session @ this current moment. I would advise you to stay @ Palazzo as asiaroom.com has a reasonable rate promotion now. For superior room, it cost only 999bahts included taxes with a more better & delicious breakfast, & better quality of room however, the usage of internet is not free. Hope it helps.

Recall Watana was popular with samsters on budget, close proximity to Ratachada sights. But difference now is marginal, especially with low season and promos (tourist arrivals -22% yoy). For budget lodgings like Watana, there's so much they can move beyond basement price. So more choice for consumers (for now).

For more "atas" league over in suk (Admiral Premier, Admiral Suites, Adelphi Grande) there's even stay for 3 but pay for 2. Average night can work out to low as between bht1333-1700. To each his own comfort, budget zone

Watana is more for those who stay longer and or those on budget who prefer to spend on entertainments then bed & breakfast. Fyi, for 7 days stay or more there will be a 20% discount.

For 2 or 3 nights I would prefer to stay at The Mini Ratchada hotel next to soi 6 & BIDC. Did check out their rooms recently.
A good rates for superior/delux rooms quote @ 1,062 & 1,189 bahts
respectively from otelrooms.com then the hotel website.

Re: Bangkok Field Report

What about the Mini Hotel, a very small boutique chain (the other one is in Thong Lor) in between Robinson and Palazzo? It's only 1,000 baht per night for the standard room, and looks incredible from the outside.

Re: Bangkok Field Report

I last stayed there in March and it was BHT600 for double w/o breakfast or internet. Bros just have to do abit more homework to find a hotel that suits them.
