Bros, please be aware that the thai banks nowadays impose charge of 150 baht per ATM transaction. I use my HSBC ATM card (sg) to withdraw cash using the ATM machines in Thailand. Charge for each transaction is 150 Thai baht and HSBC also charge SING$8. So total, I was charged 150 TB (ie 6 Sing dollars) plus $8 = $14 per ATM transaction. :mad::mad::mad:

So the moral of your "hole in the wall" story here is enough CASH for forays into LOS. Unless you have a local thai bank account (with many bahts):D

Not surprising, inter-bank charges is a cost passed on.. not too unsimiliar to telco auto-roam charges. Even credit card charges are at lousy forex rate. All's said, there is a price to pay for convenience. When you gotta have $$, just make sure amount is worth charge.

Or pawn your tirak 555:p
