Fly into Suvarnabhumi if you can, unless you got a great fare flying into Don Muang.

From Suvarnabhumi, taxi is between 230-280 bahts to Sukhumvit (if the traffic is moving).

Or you can take the commuter City Line. 45 bahts will take you all the way to Phaya Thai. From Phaya Thai, simply walk over to BTS Sukhumvit line.

You can get off at Makkasan (closer to Sukhumvit) and continue to MRT Petchaburi, but the transition won't be as smooth, unless you've got one of these:
