True, quite diff social mindset in LOS. Even got neighbourly birthday cake on occassion. Another service diff: Your scotch glass never gets empty (whisky dek tries to recall your poison mix). Whilst here is mostly DIY.

All popular clubs in Bangkok (or Thailand) are fire traps. Santika (R.I.P) was a tragic example. Not sure if its any use but best try get a table near the door or at least take note of where the fire exits are. Then again a bit LL if u already gone thru one (or 2) bottle of whisky your judgment & motor skills would b pretty fucked up already.

Yeah, tell me about it. Outside fun bit, even loo and fag breaks are a pain.

And Santika was a classic example of disaster waiting to happen. On a personal note, lost 2 sg samster friends (RIP) in "aftermath". :( And licence was only for some food business! Safety has never been a strong point for siam kias. Life's too cheap

This I have to fully agree. Recently the food taste like shit during peak hour. I stop going there.

U will surprised to know that most "disco/clubs" are actually running under a restaurant license! That's why they serve food and have those small tables+chairs. Probably cheaper tax structure. Life seems cheap coz of the mai bpen rai sanok live and let live attitude but also it's the rich and powerful having their way that ordinary citizens juz accept their lot in life. Part of Buddist karma retribution cycle thingy they believe in.

Thats one lucky dragon who won't b singing the blues!
Budget airlines always have promos but not ALL days! I booked Tiger on Monday to travel in March. Zero fare juz pay surcharge one way about BHT1,700+ so that's about same as Jet Star's promo?

Budget (as we all know) works if your travel dates are
> pre-determined
> early (like months ahead)
> not blackout dates (like peak holidays)
> limited time window for booking (like a pal who has web page on screen saver!)

Good for point-to-point (connections risk from delays and hassle of re-check-in on transit). And add-ons (baggage, seating) best to pre-book online than at counter. Early yes, take your money upfront months ahead (nothing like well advance financing). And with promos, any deviations like changes can hurt.

Closer to departure date, differential with regular airlines narrow (or even just as expensive). Just like my mid Feb booking with AAsia for new CNX route, I saw $300 return (you can do 200 on weekdays) night before and next morning went up +10% kns.

Good is not necessarily cheap, cheap is not necessarily good. :D

Aiyah, so cheem. It all depends on individual (preference, budget) and travel plans. Example, if you wanted to skive off to HKT or HDY and enroute to Bkk -budget is only option for return to SG (point to point travel).

Anybody likes the tarmac (if by AA) bus circling half of Suvarnabhum? Tiger and Jetstar use the aerobridge at least.

But we know, you are the king of the road:p;)
