Then she mumbled "just checking" or something before she walked back to her car about 10m back on main road.

I encountered a few times police at this famous spot. Mostly they will have their lights and blinkers on and drive by slowly. So never a problem.

Even parking your car outside a hotel eventho youre going to a famous stall nearby to makan can create unnecessary headache if you have kaypoh friends or neighbours :p

Not unless you are using a rental car and own car is safely parked at home...
