My thai godson school holidays just ended n this week start school. He study international school. Im just wondering other than language benefits since its angmo school n they have Cambridge GCE A n he start school 9am.

Otherwise hor the path to local thai university like no difference hor unless he use the GCE A to go UK/US/Aus study.

Sometime school is not only for education nia......his future int'l school class mate could be his business customers, boss, wife/husband, doctor etc. A lot of them send their kid to int'l school with the plan in mind for future.

If they go local thai school, mostly their friends will be kee lao, kee niao, kee ji, etc.........not all, but a less a big potion of them will be.

you can look for International Degree programs offered in local thai uni. they are english based programs but maybe not many types of degree or programs available.

Local Thai schools cannot make it lah.
Even Thais will prefer go private hospital if they are not too broke even public ones are practically free.

Yes attend International School is not just about hiso education but to network amongst classmates and between parents too.
Who knows your BFF classmate could be the future prime minister then you hosay liao loh 555! :D

Most international schools in this part of the world are sub standard. The common myth is expensive will be better, esp schools originate from States, UK and so on. I won't waste money sending them there. If u want to mix with hi so, there are other ways.

Of cause there r good school but....

More than 1k.... International school making big money, unless u are running a charity school. On avg, 1 teacher costs less than or about 2k USD while this teacher can teach a class of 10 or 20 students... u calculate the money involves.

Re: Living in Bangkok!

Countryside a lot stay wooden house much cheaper i think.

A small cabin (1 bedroom only) with sheltered balcony area, whole house on stilts = about 200k baht. All done nicely.
Got ready made 2 storey wooden houses, easily can live for family of 4.
More atas people get people to design and then build the whole house from scratch with wood on the land. Can build almost like mansion, all wood.
Of course u cant just buy a wooden house and put on empty land and stay like that, need to buy / lease the land u wanna occupy as well.
