The taxi driver whom you trusted did not give you good guidance in terms of choosing the MP. Both J1 ( former CP1 ) and Embassy are lower tier soapie MP and have been taxi /tuk tuk drivers favorite recommendation.

I had my virgin soapie in former CP1 in the "Madonna era"
( BKK taxi not yet metered back then ). And yes I was brought there through a middle man.
