Re: Bangkok Field Report
Thats the guy CNA always asks for opinions on Thailand! Interesting indeed! Thanks Bro BD! I always thought Sukhumband was just Democrat but the great-grandson of Chulalongkorn?
Bangkok is the capital and 40% of the nation's GDP comes from here but from what does this 40% come from? Finance? Commerce? Trade? Prostituition? (555+ sorry last one dun think that much). They all depend largely on the goods produced from the hinterland whose factories and farms are now under water and will take months to recover. Can Bangkok still claim that 40% this year? It has been argued by some that Bangkok should be flooded. There will be damage but minimal and the waters will clear faster. Now its just stagnating & rotting. Turning putrid under the searing heat of the last 2 weeks. Said a flood victim on TV who was amongst those that smashed a dyke north of Bangkok. "Sukhumband is making us suffer because we didn't vote for him in the last election". I think that sums it all up. |

Try closing Apple HQ for 3 months or longer and see what will happen to it and its shares :D Those few thousands ppl who suffered in the flood outside BKK, we can understand how they feel cause its their home, every common men will normally think of his home first then the country, looking at the overall pic, BKK is the home of whole country. The flood has already happened outside BKK. Everyone can blame the govt slow in responding to this but what they can do now as what the BKK governor is doing, is to protect the capital. In army, it is always say, first country then home :D |
