Thats the guy CNA always asks for opinions on Thailand! Interesting indeed! Thanks Bro BD! I always thought Sukhumband was just Democrat but the great-grandson of Chulalongkorn?

Bangkok is the capital and 40% of the nation's GDP comes from here but from what does this 40% come from? Finance? Commerce? Trade? Prostituition? (555+ sorry last one dun think that much). They all depend largely on the goods produced from the hinterland whose factories and farms are now under water and will take months to recover. Can Bangkok still claim that 40% this year?

It has been argued by some that Bangkok should be flooded. There will be damage but minimal and the waters will clear faster. Now its just stagnating & rotting. Turning putrid under the searing heat of the last 2 weeks.

Said a flood victim on TV who was amongst those that smashed a dyke north of Bangkok. "Sukhumband is making us suffer because we didn't vote for him in the last election". I think that sums it all up.

It is individual views but to the govt, capital is the last line of defence. Without a capital, it will be without a country. Lets take an example, main financial institute in the capital. If the Thailand financial monetary is going to close down for 1, 3 months or longer. The whole economic will be closed down. What will happen to the very basic of THB? Will whole of Thailand, millions of Thais suffer or only the few thousands flood victims suffer?

Try closing Apple HQ for 3 months or longer and see what will happen to it and its shares :D

Those few thousands ppl who suffered in the flood outside BKK, we can understand how they feel cause its their home, every common men will normally think of his home first then the country, looking at the overall pic, BKK is the home of whole country.

The flood has already happened outside BKK. Everyone can blame the govt slow in responding to this but what they can do now as what the BKK governor is doing, is to protect the capital.

In army, it is always say, first country then home :D

Really? cos most of MP gals I call do lots of jumping. cos when I go MP usually chit chat with gal about how long they have been working, where they work before. There are gals working in Caesar who jumped from Poseidon , Poseidon jump to Amsterdam, Utopia jump to Poseidon etc

The previous PM is Thaksin not Taksin. Taksin was a revered Thai Chinese King who united Thailand and was the predecessor of the current Chakri dynasty. So don't simply say bad things about King Taksin cos he is very respected even though he became insane in his final years and was executed

Yes, correct. That stupid sissy boy is eunuch in politics- like a unerected husband in unconsummated marriage- PM in title only but an unelected PM. He is probably envious of his Eton/Oxford "mate" David Cameron who managed to fluke the PMship in an election.
Abhisit is just an talker like Obama. Hardly much gets done under Abhisit partly cos he was unelected and lack the mandate. I mean if a guy is unerected, how to fcuk right? And yes, Yungluck has more balls than Abhisit :D

True that capital can't flood = country loose face. Critics argued that it won't be as bad nor that long. But time for debate has passed now hope the waters can subside b4 end of this month when I come back! :D

Some historians say King Taksin's madness is debatable. History after all is written by the victors. The throne was upsurged by one of his generals, Rama 1 (aka the guy who started the current Chakri Dynasty). They put him into a bag and beat him to death. Apparently that how they executed nobility.
