I only left 6 mths n 7 days from the time i enter from sadao.. do u think the immigration can disallow me to enter Thailand? Plz advise. Sorry if my english is bad.

Hi jf,

I would suggest getting a new passport before going over to HDY. Although min validity is 6 mths for entry and you have slightly more than that, your entry might be rejected.

U r quite right, mayb i can bring along the old passport but i will still ask tiger abt tis too….. thxs for advise

I dun see wats the problem here as passport details are optional during bookings as long as you have the passenger's particulars. Passport only need to be produce on flight day itself.

Please open your eyes big big and read bro jimfairy's explaination in his previous post!

He's asking a genuine question that can happen to any one as well and is not due to laziness.

Very hard to say as it may differ from airline to airline.
There's one case where one bro's name has a typo error and that created some problems during check-in.

Thxs for advise bro Snuber...

Bro Ninja.. sometime budget airlines r quite particular when they r difference in the details, especially when the passport number n expired date r different. A bro suggested tat after i have changed my new passport, i bring along the old passport n show to the check in counter if they ever asky the details r different. I do ever heard before of this incident.
Thxs so much to all bros here giving me advises n warnings. M grateful to all...:)

The number of Malaysians going to southern Thailand has dropped by half after the military takeover there, according to New Straits Times.

State Immigration Department director Mohammad Fitri Hassan said 2,000 and 2,500 visitors would cross the border on a daily basis via Bukit Kayu Hitam, but the number had dropped to about 1,000.

“Most of the visitors only make day trips,” he said, while advising Malaysians to postpone their trips to Thailand in order to avoid any untoward incidents until the situation returned to normal.

Yesterday, an official from the Malaysian consulate-general office in Songkhla, Thailand, advised Malaysians to postpone or avoid travelling there following the worsening situation in the country.

Those already in Thailand have been advised to monitor the situation, exercise caution and avoid protest spots.

Prior to the coup, southern Thailand was also rocked by a series of bombings linked to the separatist movement.

On Saturday, nine bomb explosions were reported in Pattani and three bombs went off in Narathiwat between 7.30pm and 8pm, which killed three people and wounded 54. No Malaysians were hurt by the multiple blasts.

Its good to play safe.
But i can guaranteed that as long as by the paper you have 6 months validity then it is lawful for your entry to the particular country.
The problem always comes when you have less then that.
However a 5 months and 30 days is not acceptable by the paper.
Ofcourse that can also depends on courtesy, luck, and the immigration officer checking your passport.

I don't know why is the such a hassle over a such a simple justification.
However if you wanted to ask to justify to do it or not, then please do it.
But note you will lose out any days exceeding 6 months if you renew your passport earlier then 6 months.

By not giving the higher authority any reasons at all to find your fault should be the way to go. With current chaos in Thailand any reason for them to detain you might be disastrous.

Since the curfew started last week, all oversea news channels had been stop broadcasting. The media seem to resume some permission today, then I am able to watch Channel News Asia today finally, but some channel still having the bar. Although all night entertainment have reopen for business this evening after the long shut down by the order, their operation will be cease by midnight. Well these could be till further notice from the military junta.

Have fun

Is Hatyai a dead town now? Heard that there was a raid on farms in March and that caused a dropped in supply. What is the situation in the farms now? Thinking of going over but concern that kena military junta problem.
