KTVs to reopen: Hostessing banned
 

SINGAPORE - Hostessing will be banned even as KTVs are allowed to reopen, but industry insiders say hostesses will still be plying their trade at illicit KTVs that are expected to continue operating illegally.

The police define hostessing as providing companionship to patrons through conversation or by consuming food or drinks together.

Long time ktv cheongsters should know that hostesses are not employed by the ktv joints. But rather they are also consider "customers" as they come here on tourist pass or short term visit pass.

exactly - as a long time cheongsters entertaining my clients and myself hahahah

this so called rule will not change anything, just something that 'has to be said'. Then again, we can always expect the usual raids, but again, if girls are just sitting and drinking and playing games, no issues at all. Just don't get caught with your pants down can already ... of course same thing applies with smoking in rooms.

Yeah and point to take note. Touchwood, if AV happen to raid and u in the room with the gal, dont be a hero and say u know the viet gal so well. No point protecting someone whom u pretend to know for the last 1 hr or so. Just tell the AV lor u first time meet her. Then they will let off after taking your statement.

These hostesses employed by the KTVs/Nightclubs are under those Foreign Performing Artiste Work Permit AKA Singer Permit. These are commonly used by KTVs / Hang Flower Joints in Singapore. By DEFAULT, their job is to sing/perform at their joints and not even allowed to mingle with customers.

There are also some under Social Visit Visa/Special Pass that are working in these places too. :p

As we always know, our govt just "Close One Eye" if no complaints made to these places. When Police/AV come raid, these artistes just return to stage or resting areas as long not caught mingling with customers ;)

No. Hostessing are not allowed even before during pre covid times. Yes they not allowed to mingle with customers. They have work permit such as performing artiste. So if raid, they just leave the room and sit at common area. Lol.

Yes allowed. Even live performance allowed as well.
