Re: Toronto, Canada: the basics

Went to univ in Canada, migrated there, was working then got laid off. Currently considering my options. Truth be told, my personal life in Canada SUCKS. Hard to make friends at my age, even harder to get dates. Cheong scene is my only solace.

If you're travelling to other cities: Montreal - merb.ca. Vancouver - perb.ca.

Generally if you're travelling to Canada, I highly suggest breaking up the trip because Canada is huge. (Flying from Vancouver to Toronto takes 5 hours) The western portion: Vancouver/Whistler + Calgary/Banff. Rent a car/motorhome and take in simply the best scenery in North America. Some Singaporeans combine this with an Alaska cruise, which leaves from Vancouver. If you like to golf, then Vancouver is golfing heaven (google image search for furry creek).

Eastern portion: Toronto/Niagara Falls + Montreal + Quebec City. Older part of North America, mostly city scenery with lots of history. Montreal has the freakin' hottest girls on the continent, with the amazing french accent. Also cheaper service compared to Toronto. Quebec City is a must for the history of it - awesome in the summer.
