Condoms do not protect against viral STDs that are transmitted via skin to skin contact eg Herpes and Genital Warts.

This is because the condom does not cover all areas of intimate contact eg the base of the penile shaft and the scrotum.

If you want to cover all bases you need something like scroguard https://scroguard.com
