Just yesterday, I saw a news article from BBC saying that Gonorrhea is getting more and more resistant to antibiotics and they are already at the last line or defence with only a few drugs that can combat it. The worst kind of infection is throat infection. That's the one that is really hard to combat.
Look up Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma too. These are bacteria that do not have a cell wall, found in the vagina and it is very hard to combat with antibiotics. My motive isn't to scare you but rather to let you know to be safe. At the end of the day, if you want to have sex, you wouldn't want to enjoy and then get your health affected.
