Not verified. Its boarded up. So my assumption is that its permanently closed. However a bartender friend of mine who's friends with the boss of Ipanema told me they're remodelling the place and putting a kitchen in to try and reopen with a dining license (like so many bars now) so only time will tell if that actually happens.
My gut feeling says it'll be a stillborn effort. But for the sake of hoping I still hope it happens and succeeds in keeping them to survive current conditions. Even so, it won't be like the Ipanema of old. Highly unlikely to see the throngs of girls prowling and working there anymore. Most of them aren't even in sg now.
