Depends on which part of 北方。 Usually 东北 is the fairest of them all due to climate, UV exposure, more foggy cloudy less sunlight in Dongbei, Dongbei was spared the heatwave. As for those in yellow river delta area, not so fair complexion as UV rays very strong , its central plains area less clouds more sun, the recent heatwave struck henan shandong hebei very bad. 西北 depends as terrain climate varies. Inner Mongolia also not as fair as Mongolian grassland UV rays are the strongest. I seen a UV ray distribution diagram of china before. Thats I understand now why Dongbei are the fairest of them all.
