Normally most mls in slg responds to sms. I contact most of them through there. Minority uses WhatsApp. I only do wechat if the ml invite me to do so. Normally it is stated in the advertisement which mode is best. It is best if you can text in mandarin as most of them only reads chinese and may reject if you do not correspond using mandarin(I know a few will reject if you cannot correspond in mandarin in text). I never attempted to call. Not sure if that is what though are asking but yup, let us know what else you need to know.
