That is her so called entertaining customers with short replies. Chit-chatting is more of a non-stop text exchanges and not receiving reply a few hours later or the day after.
Some MLs only keep in touch so that they can ask u to support their besties when they arrived in Sg. I doubt these MLs can remember our looks after not seeing each other for 1-2 years but still can message I miss u.
