All signs pointed to TAA 'planning' to leave on a free when he did not agree to a 6 year contract and signed on a 4 year contract instead
Oh and we have sold a player for a huge sum (albeit not a scouser) before in Coutinho to Barca for an initial £105 million rising to £142 million

I understand what you mean about getting some transfer value in. Especially during this Financial Fairplay era. Our club just hasn't been functioning like that. Here's a list of
19 players we released on a a free transfer during Klopp's reign (October 2015 to June 2024).
Jose Enrique, Kolo Toure, Emre Can, Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana, Georgino Wijnaldum, Divork Origi, Ben Woodburn, Sheyi Ono, Lorius Karius, James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Adrian (goalkeeper). Letting good players leave seem to be the trend. I'm sure we could have squeezed some transfer fee out of these players right?

When FSG took over, they said they will use the Moneyball method to discover up and coming players and sell them at their peak to generate more funds for the club. Under Klopp we didn't do that. Klopp was too loyal to the players. Lallana even got benched during the last few months and was given a grand sending off. Coutinho was an unusual case because he wanted to leave and we squeezed Barcelona.
Right now, the person quietly observing this is Konate whose contract ends in June 2026. Got rumours linking him to PSG. If he doesn't send a contract extension this summer and next summer is the World Cup, we will face all sort of speculation again next season. The talk of Salah, VVD and TAA has been very irritating this season.
