Re: Sex addiction

In a sense, all humans are programmed by our genes to be addicted to sexual activity. It's not just humans of course -- the sexual instinct is omnipresent in all species of sexual life. As far as our species is concerned, it is in fact abnormal not to enjoy sex -- either one is too sick or too stressed. A normal, healthy human being is someone who should find it pleasurable to engage in frequent sexual activity. That many do not attests to the fact that we are living in a world where there are many sick (physically or mentally) people. So if you are still interested in sex -- you are one of the fortunate ones!

Of course, like all drives, the sexual instinct needs to be wisely managed. Society does try to rein in unbridled lust through laws against molestation and rape -- and that is a good and necessary thing. Sex workers everywhere also also provide a useful social service for those who aren't married or find difficulty in securing a steady sex partner for one reason or another. Rather than despised, sex workers should be lauded for their positive contributions to society. Unfortunately this is not the case and it attests to the stupidity and hypocrisy of the world at large.

In an ideal society, sexual services should be available to both men or women who desire it. This is not the case in most communities because we are still largely a patriarchal species. As a result, there is one group of humans who have had to repress their sexual desires mostly -- older but still healthy females. I cry for the pain in their hearts.
