I do feel that Filipinas are great company, probably cos they do speak English pretty well, plus their mentality is to give you EVERYTHING -- with the caveat that you give everything back as well .. so it is somewhat like a double edged sword.

Initially you should be careful but with time, you would learn what to look out for and what not to do, which places are ok to go and which places you should avoid even during the day ... and I suppose you would have to make a few mistakes before you can get good experiences. Hopefully those mistakes aren't too costly though!

If you're looking for more than just a FJ, or a warm body at night plus don't want the feeling that the "relationship" (if you can call it that) is purely transactional, you can definitely find that here in Manila and the rest of the PI. But as with all things, do go in with both eyes wide open... and your wallet close and closed.. lol

Never really had an issue with hand carry meds though, and I am always bringing meds in my hand carry, but they are usually run of the mill anti-cough / cold / fever meds and in reasonably low quantity for personal usage, hence that's easily explained.
