In long distant relationship, once trust is gone, then thats it. If you really treasure her, then I think you better find out the truth, before things getting more complicated. Since you know roughly where are the MPs, just go there and try to see if she's really there.
No doubt Bangkok is expensive, to me, but not to majority of the Thais. Before you met her, how does she survive, when no one send her money.
