I haven't found this to be the case in Tg Balai.Maybe I have been lucky.As long as you agree the price beforehand,there should be no problem with the taxi drivers.They will carry your case.The most I have paid is Rp 30,000 to go to Aston (Padimas) hotel.However,in years gone by,there were appalling sharks at the ferry in Tanjung Pinang.Even after I had paid them,they wanted more.
