been thinking to drive part time also.

but the idea of hving to pay rental and fuel scare me

Bro, driving taxi is depend on how much you want to earn. I personally try it before drive 9 days and earn close to ???
I'm different from other driver, I don't sit down on coffee shop, when I start my shift, I will smoke,shit,pee and drink before I start. Normally I have no time to take my dinner so probably it's will be after midnight I take my dinner. If you have nothing to work, I suggest you go try it out. I myself is still a newbie.

There are tons of Customer everywhere ofcause town area will be more, but if you happen to be in clake quay u can see there is few hundred of ppl waiting to get cab.

Those who go chiong at CQ should know how difficult to get a cab over there when all the driver are choosing their location.

Rental range around 40+ to 60+, fuel depend how many km you drive.

Taxi driving day 2

As usual I start to drive on sat 6.30pm, standard SOP to roam around my area, if there is no customer at my area I would proceed to geylang as there are plenty of customers over there, started to pick up some customers, told them I'm a new driver and still learning so would ask them to guide me alone, I would say majority Singaporean are understanding or even they don't know the route I told them I would GPS. Most of them are very understanding. But things happen during at night when I took a oncall at lorong 4 geylang, reach there about 9.30pm, was waiting outside hotel. The customer late for 20min, I have no choice but to wait for them to come out, it's was an local Indian couple, they keep on apologize to me and I say it's ok, I told the guy sometime it's take longer to come out, so he smile at me and we move on to their destination haw par villa mrt station.

The 1st location I learn in my heart was geylang! Haha! It's a heaven place for guys right?

During the journey, They were chatting about some Chinese religion and God etc etc and the lady ask the guy about how the ghost look like and the guy told her to look at the mirror, so I nearly LOL some time you just smile to yourself when customer are talking about shit stuff.

While we were talking in the taxi, I notice I have exit the wrong way, Oh shit, the gps bring me to holland! So I apologize to the customer and told them I would give them discount. They are very understanding and told me to relax, so I carry on my driving till I reach destination.


Indian: How much uncle?
Uncle: 18.50 but u can give me $15
Indian: thanks uncle
Uncle: in my heart, I would rather give them discount then they call my company to complain. I do not have time to go back office to drink coffee.

From haw par villa mrt I drove toward vivo city but 1 customer flag my taxi at pasir panjang, it's an ang moh who flag my taxi, I stopped and pick him up.

Me: good evening sir, where would you like to go to.
Ang moh: stadium rd!
Me: as usual I would tell the customer that I'm new, so I gps the route.

Never did I know that on sat night it's the Suzuki cup, singapore vs Thailand at our national stadium.

Upon reaching there some of the road close and its horrible traffic causes jam near by all route, everybody finish their watching their game at national stadium
And was rushing home, so I stuck at the 24hr kallang macdonald and I accidently turn in the carpark, it was congested over there and I have problem coming out of the carpark. Gps bring me to holland again.

The ang moh piss off and shouted fuck and its whining the half journey, ask me why I drive him into here, I told him that I make a wrong turn because the gps ask me to enter through here. So he say again fuck the GPS. So I begin to piss off but still I control my emotion and try to drive him to stadium road. "If 10 years ago I would say stfu asshole, this is singapore and not your country" but still I smile at him and say byebye, guess I really grow up. After 5min traffic congested and I finally make my way there so he ask to alight.

The meter fare was $23.50, I didn't know how much is from pasir panjang to stadium road so I gave him an discount $10 off the meter fee.

After that he pay me $13.50 he get happy and get off the cab. After I get off there is an auto booking show national stadium taxi stand, I wouldn't want to pick up customer with he congested traffic, I give it a go and went back to geylang.

Some of the customers think that taxi driver are cheap / useless chap, but i would want to rephrase this, I might be earning the same salary as u or even more.

Please be kind to all taxi driver. Everybody are learning new thing everyday. Practice make perfect.

End of the day after the discount I still earn about $120 after rental and fuel.

Guess not too bad drive from 7pm to 2am++

Day 1 = ??
Day 2 = ??

Brother, try not to always give discount unless the passenger keeps on asking for discount. For the Ang Mo $10 discount is too much already. If u drive long enough you know there r passengers who kaubei at slightest mistake and want discount.
For me i keep quiet and tell them the amount at end of the trip. If they say why i never discouny then i will ask them how much they want to discount. If not just collect full amount say thank you and go off. There r many cheapskate around. If u keep giving discount, next time all taxis in Singapore need to give discount when got stuck in jam.
