Here's my issue with Geylang:

A lot of these girls are basically slaves (although they do have the option to simply leave and return to their home country - albeit at monetary loss) and too many of them have very bad attitudes. You have no way to know beforehand, and by the time you do you have already handed over the cash to the guy at the front counter.

The ladies at the spas/beauty joints are there voluntarily under much better conditions and the chances of receiving very good service are higher.

The facilities at the spas/beauty joints are better too, and you don't have to go to such a seedy area like Geylang.

My two cents...

From my view there are still spa out there providing decent massage service with some extra activities at standard pricing... At least I know of 4-6 joints that are still working with the old standard pricing... It just turn me off when I see ladies trying to chop us like carrot thinking that we do not know the pricing... maybe that's e main reason why I often chiong to my regular joints as I know I won't be chop like carrot
